Pluralistic Therapy.
Pluralism is a mode of therapy defined by an equal and collaborative relationship between client and therapist. No couch, no clipboard. You are the expert in your own life, and I can draw from different theories to support your requirements.
There is no one-size-fits-all therapy, so we can explore what works for you and your goals. As a therapist, I am constantly developing my own ‘toolkit’ so that I can offer tailored therapeutic methods.
See below for some of my preferred therapeutic methods.
My Therapeutic methods.
-
ACT helps you make space for difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting against them. Together, we focus on mindfulness, self-awareness, and what really matters to you, identifying flexible values instead of rigid goals, helping you move towards a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
-
CBT looks at how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are connected. We work together to notice unhelpful patterns, build practical coping strategies, and support positive changes that can improve your issues in the here and now.
-
Gestalt therapy helps you become more aware of your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in the present moment. Together, we explore patterns, relationships, and emotions with curiosity and honesty, helping you develop greater self-awareness, confidence, and connection with yourself and others; including those no longer with us.
-
Narrative therapy gives you space to explore the stories you hold about yourself and your experiences through more creative methods. Together, we can look at how these stories have shaped your life, recognise your strengths, and help you create new, more empowering perspectives.
-
IFS helps you explore the different “parts” of yourself that may hold different emotions, beliefs, or protective roles. Together, we work with curiosity and compassion to better understand these parts, helping you feel more balanced, connected, and grounded. This can be very helpful if you find it hard to identify and express emotions and identify internal conflict.
-
Person-centred therapy offers a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly at your own pace. We focus on building trust, understanding, and self-acceptance, helping you reconnect with yourself and your own inner strengths. Sometimes you just need somewhere to talk, and someone to listen without offering solutions.
-
Timeline work helps us explore important life experiences and how they may still be affecting you today. Together, we can look at patterns, process significant events, and build a clearer understanding of your personal journey and growth. This allows you to take a step back and see your life as a bigger picture.
-
Transactional Analysis helps us understand patterns in the way you communicate, relate to others, and respond in relationships. Together, we explore where these patterns may have come from and how you can make more conscious and helpful choices moving forward.
-
Trauma-informed therapy recognises how past experiences can affect your emotional, physical, and relational wellbeing. We work in a way that prioritises safety, trust, and choice, making sure therapy feels supportive, respectful, and paced around your needs. Ever feel like you are anxious but you don’t know why? Exploring trauma can be a useful way to become more attuned to yourself.
